Jade Leaf Matcha is produced by the Kizuna Tea Collective, a thriving network of family-run tea farms across Japan that have been supplying the domestic market since 1858. Our tea masters, Morita-san and Shimooka-san, are among the most decorated, with a combined 100+ years of experience. They bring together hand-selected tea leaves from each harvest to create a unique, well-rounded flavor profile.

Farm-Direct Organic Japanese Matcha: Fresh, Flavorful, and Fairly Priced

Our matcha is sourced from the Uji and Kagoshima regions, where family-owned partner farms fuse traditional and modern techniques to cultivate leaves brimming with flavor and nutrients. These leaves are shade-grown for 3-4 weeks prior to harvest to boost their nutrient content, and then selectively picked with stems and veins removed to improve texture and taste.

The resulting powder is ground into an ultrafine texture, keeping the delicate nutrients intact. We test our products both at the farms where they are grown, as well as by third-party laboratories, to ensure the highest quality and integrity.

Ceremonial vs. Culinary Matcha

Ceremonial grades are from first-harvest leaves, have a smoother flavor suitable for traditional preparation as a tea, and are more expensive. Culinary grades are from later-harvest tea leaves, have a bolder flavor meant for mixing into recipes as an ingredient, and are more affordable. Both are brimming with healthy tea antioxidants.
