We offer matcha and tea from the best tea regions all over Japan, directly from farms and tea manufacturers. Our mission is to help you enjoy matcha, and we have 7 different kinds for you to choose from.
Not all matcha is equal - it can be difficult to separate the good from the overpriced and mediocre. We work hard to offer the best quality product at each price point, as we know that for something so simple, matcha can have a huge range of flavors.
We started with just 1 type of matcha and have now expanded to work directly with a network of tea growers and manufacturers in Japan, offering 7 kinds. Our collection includes matcha from different tea regions of Japan:
Superior Blend: Balanced and mellow Organic First Spring Blend: Mild with lighter umami Fragrant Yame Blend: Sweet, buttery fragrance Chiran Harvest Masters Collection: Smooth and creamy umami flavor Organic Culinary Blend: Robust with some bitterness
These matcha blends cater to various preferences, from beginner-friendly versatile options to more advanced, specialized flavors. We recommend our Superior or Organic Ceremonial Blends for matcha newcomers, as they provide a great taste for lattes and teas.
Experienced matcha drinkers may enjoy the Fragrant Yame Blend for its sweetness and smoothness, or the Masters Collection Chiran Harvest for a more complex, nuanced flavor.
Matcha provides a focused, mellow energy boost without the jitters or crash of coffee, thanks to the naturally occurring L-theanine and caffeine. It is also high in antioxidants, with a greater concentration than regular green teas.
To make the classic frothy thin tea ("usucha"), use 1 tsp (2g) of matcha with 3 oz of 170°F water, best made with a bamboo whisk. For a matcha latte, create a "matcha shot" with 1.5 tsp (3g) of matcha and 1 oz of water, then add 6 oz of your preferred milk and sweetener.
You can also enjoy a refreshing cold brew matcha by adding 1 tsp (2g) of matcha to 6-8 oz of cold water. Adjust the water amount to your taste, and try it with coconut water for a special treat.
Our matcha is tested for radiation and heavy metal contamination, and the government of Japan also conducts separate testing on all food products, with consistent negative results.
Properly stored in an airtight container, matcha will remain fresh for about 12 months, and once opened, we recommend consuming it within 1-2 months. We do small batch shipments directly from the tea estates to ensure the freshest possible matcha.
